“Devastation” is a great script, an engaging story about Hurricane Maria and its effect on those fated to be in Puerto Rico to endure it. It is a story that must be told. From the first page it delivers a strong message to the reader about the impending dangers of the warming ocean and climate change. It moves on to convey the irony of people on St. John evacuating in fear of Irma and seeking refuge in Puerto Rico. 

The tragedy of Hurricane Maria is one of the most devastating ones of recent history and our film must portray it with accuracy, respect, and compassion. The dialogue is brilliant, revealing of character, and often humorous; the reversals and surprises are well placed and powerful. The characters are vividly drawn, diverse, often vulnerable and have an edge.

My goal for the film is to create stunning intercuts of the wild intensity of nature and the tragic, and sometimes romantic, dramas in which the characters are engaged.

Rainbow

SYNOPSIS

After RAYMOND'S mother becomes sick he moves to live with his father on his farm. RAYMOND, 12 is also going colour blind but realises he can predict the future through seeing rainbows out of people, buildings and objects. Depending on the brightness and intensity of the rainbows his sensibilities makes sense out of the beholders future.

MALCOLM, 36, Raymond's father was once a world class footballer but suffered from a horrific injury ending his career and his dream. MALCOLM moves back to his fathers farm and runs it as his own. He realises his son’s gift and begins to exploit it for his own financial gain. But it comes at a cost as his father has to decide to either pursue his dreams through his son’s gifts or give it up for his son’s health and well-being.

Set in Latin America this colorful film focuses on the relationship struggle between the two lead characters. As Raymond is selfless in his love for his father, MALCOM only realises his love for his son through the loss of his dreams.
